Hello gentlemen,
My wife just brought home a domestic Heffe Weizen and I was just thinking about the very best beer I ever tasted! Schofferhofer Heffe Weizen! Everytime I go to the fatherland, that is all I drink. I can't seem to find it over here so all I have are just memories. I do a pretty close home brew to it but it is not the same. I think I will surf your site a little and see what I can drum up. |

Hey all,
I agree that schofferhofer hefe is the best beer made. I lived in Germany for 9 years, and just returned from a visit and drank all that I could while I was there. If anyone does find it here in the states, I would be very interested in getting some!! |

When back in the States, I've seen it sold in a store called The World Market (specifically the one in San Antonio) for about $3-4 a bottle or so. Also seen it in Mexican grocery stores just across the border for about $2 a bottle. |

Just got back from Germany. This year's highlight was a visit to Dresden. After walking for hours we finally settled down to an outdoor cafe for a late evening dinner. We ordered a HefeWiezen and it was a Schofferhofer. If any of the nearby patrons understood English, they understood that "THIS IS A GREAT BEER." |

Absolutely the best beer I have ever had. Like many of you stated, I drank this beer the whole time I was in Germany, 3 years. I have not found a beer that comes close to Schofferhofer Hefeweizen or Kristalweizen. I called the World Market in San Antonio and they do not sell it anymore. Damn! |

A buddy of mine presented me with a bottle of Schofferhofer which he had brought back from Germany while on his tour there. Must admit that I was a bit skeptical about it since I am a diehard Budlight fan. However, I have to admit that it had a smooth taste and I actually liked it. Now I'm curious if any place close by might actually sell it. |

I randomly picked Schofferhofer up off the shelf in Berlin, and discovered the greatest beer in all the world. I have always been a fan of hefewiezen beer, and saw hefewiezen on the label. I have been keeping an eye out for it at the world market, but no luck as of yet. The closest thing I can find is Hoegaarden, which is a Belgian hefewiezen, and very good. If I ever go back to Germany, I will come back with a suitcase full of Schofferhofer for sure. |

Greetings fellow Hefeweizen lovers--I have spent the last 4 years living in Germany and my firm belief is that the greatest gift Germany has given to the world of beer is Hefeweizen. And Schoefferhofer is certainly among the best. Trust me, I have tried them all! As an equal and perhaps even better alternative I would suggest Franziskaner. It has a great balance of that banana/clove nose and flavor we love and IS available in the US. And in case you're wondering, no I don't work for them, but sure wish I did! |

I spent four years in Germany in the Air Force and during my stay, I tried them all. SCHOFFERHOFFER is by far the best bier ever. It is NOT a typical American taste. It is strong, a little bitter, heavy, leaves a strong good aftertaste of wheat and is quite sudzy. SCHOFFERHOFFER is an experience like no other. |

i just came back from Nuremburg and I fell in love with this beer. As a female, I'm not a big beer drinker, but I love this beer. I'm on a search for it. The only thing close to it, is Warsteiner, which I think is much more bitter than Schofferhofer. if anyone finds it here in the U.s, let me know. i do believe you can have it shipped. I found a website that offered it for 23.99 for 6 bottles (hmm). |

I want it badly. In November I went to Bitburg, Germany. I fell in love. I brought 6 back but they were gone in a week. The closest thing I've found is Paulaner Hefeweisen. But it is still not as good. Someone HELP! |

i found a *great* taste-alike! in my local market with an great beer section i stumbled upon Weisenstephaner (after tasting three others) and from the first sip i thought "this is it!!" So, if you are in the US, northeast section anyway, and are jonsing for a good hefeweizen anything like SH, give Weisenstephaner a whirl. |

I brought home 6 Bottles from a short stay in Germany. I was able to carry them in my Carry on Luggage in March of 2001, Pre Crazy people flying into buildings. I gave one to my Motor Sargeant, One to my Dad, My wife and I drank 3, and I have one on a shelf in my Office. Since I cannot find this in the US, I have been looking for its equal, the same as all of you.
One beer that I am fond of is Hoegaarden. A Belgian White Beer. Enjoy! |

I was ARMY in GE. from 96 to 00. This was the German beer of choice for almost everyone I knew there. I would love to find it here but my search is always short. The truely best beer in Germany is at a Monastery in Kreuzberg. The monks started making beer there in 14th century and did they get it right. It is a must vist if you are ever headed that way. You can only get Kreuzberg beer on location. You can fill up all the growlers you want and take them with you but it isnt the same the next day. |

You are all right...Schofferhofer is king! The taste and even smell is remarkable. I've had liquor stores here attempt to get it and they say it's not distributed in the U.S. I have about 8 left of the 20 I brought back last year...hope to get more over there in a couple of months.
I will say the closest I've been able to find state-side is: Ayinger...german and very tasty. Also, Estes Park Brewery in CO...their Hefeweizen is very close and extremely good - however hard to get anywhere but Estes Park. |

I was recently in Germany visiting my daughter and new son-in-law and had the opportunity to sample many beers there. I agree completely about the many post on how well the like the Schofferhofer Hefeweizen beer truly spoiled me when i returned back. I will never drink another light beer again. I have like so many looked for a Schofferhofer Hefeweizen beer distributor with no luck; however i did have a wonderful experience with Paulaner Hefeweizen draft in Germany i believe its a wonderful substitute for the Schofferhofer. And you can find it in supply here in the states. I have been enjoying them since returning give it a try but pore it in a tall glass and let it open up a little before you drink it, it has a wonderful bouquet and you will not be disappointed. |

For those of you looking for this, this may not be ALL that helpful but I found it at Epcot at Disneyworld FL. At Germany, of course. I am looking to find where I can get it "outside" of Disney. Definitely the best beer I've ever had. |
